Maun Motors Self Drive is conveniently located just a mile off Junction 28 of the M1 motorway, on the Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire border.

This central location in the East Midlands makes us perfectly placed to serve most of mainland Britain, with good links to Clean Air Zones in Sheffield, Birmingham, Bradford, Greater Manchester, Bristol, Bath and Portsmouth; as well as Nottingham, Derby, Rotherham, Leicester, Loughborough, Doncaster, Barnsley, Worksop, Northampton and the West Midlands. This is in addition to the local towns we serve, such as Chesterfield, Mansfield, Alfreton, Newark-on-Trent, Belper and Matlock.

The convenience of having the M1 on our doorstep means we are just 60 miles from Leeds and 140 miles from Central London.

Our nearest railway stations are Alfreton and Sutton Parkway and our van & truck hire depot is served by Trent Barton’s “The Nines” service, which regularly travels between Derby, Ripley, Alfreton and Mansfield (Timetable here). Our nearest bus stop is at the McArthur Glen East Midlands Designer Outlet, which is a five minute walk (approx 0.7 miles) from our depot.

Maun Motors Self Drive is a family business, but is one of the largest independent commercial vehicle rental operators in the UK, with a huge self drive hire fleet of over 800 vehicles of a wide variety of types, including many hard-to-find specialist vehicles. We specialise in HIAB Crane Lorry rentals, as well as vans, other lorries & trucks and minibuses. We supply vans, trucks, minibuses and Moffett fork lifts and Curtain-side Trailers to all parts of mainland Britain, on both short-term and long-term contract hire basis. The vast majority of our commercial vehicle hire fleet now meets the Euro 6 emission standards required by London’s ULEZ (Ultra Low Emission Zone) and the Clean Air Zones (CAZ) operated by many towns and cities. We hire to businesses and organisations large and small – from self-employed builders to local authorities and blue-chip PLCs – but we also have many vehicles available for hire to private individuals, with insurance included in the price.
