Many of our self drive hire vehicles can be rented with insurance included, to private individuals & sole traders (list below).

 

If you are a private individual, sole trader or small local business wishing to hire a van, you probably don’t have your own fleet insurance policy that covers hire vehicles. Therefore, you need an all-inclusive rental package with insurance cover* & VAT included in the price.

 

You may need to hire a van to move house or to help others move, to take items to the local tip, collect some DIY materials, shift large items of furniture or equipment, relocate family members to university or college, or even hire a replacement vehicle whilst yours is off the road being serviced.

 

That’s why Maun Motors offer a wide range of commercial vehicles – from Car-derived Vans to 9 seat Minibuses to 7.5 tonne Box Vans – available for rental by private customers, traders & small businesses.

 

In 2018 we introduced a dedicated “Value Range“ of modern hire vans, aimed at occasional short-term hire by private users, sole traders and small businesses. The Value Range includes 3.5 tonne GVW vehicles such as Dropside, Luton Van with Tail Lift, Curtain-Sider and Dropwell Luton Removal Van.

 

We have 24 hour and 4 hour all-inclusive rates available on many van & truck types up to 7.5 tonnes GVW, further details of our range can be found below, or view our entire range of vehicles available to hire with insurance included, for private use.

Modern Vehicles

 

To help our customers comply with the evolving legislative requirements for commercial vehicles operating in & around major UK cities like London, Birmingham and Manchester, Maun Motors can supply a selection of hire vehicles which are compliant with the standards of CLOCS, Crossrail and FORS. These vehicles feature additional safety equipment to help reduce Goods Vehicle collisions with vulnerable road users – such as cyclists and pedestrians – whilst managing other elements of WRRR (Work Related Road Risk).

Our modern commercial vehicle rental fleet consists mainly of vans, trucks & minibuses built to meet Euro 6 emissions standards, but please state at time of booking if you intend to operate within London Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) or a city which operates a Clean Air Zone (CAZ) so that we can ensure a compliant vehicle is supplied.

 

 

*INSURANCE EXCLUSIONS: Please note that when hiring vehicles on our own insurance we, regrettably, cannot cover drivers of 70 years of age and above, or those under 25 years of age (more info in our FAQs). All drivers must have held a full licence for at least 2 years. Towing with the hired vehicle is NOT permitted; even if the vehicle you hire has a towbar fitted. If you need to tow with your hire vehicle, you must arrange additional insurance cover prior to commencement of the hire agreement. These are conditions of our insurance and are beyond our control.

I needed a van at short notice, and although I had to hire a van a size category larger than I needed, it worked out fine. The van was in decent condition, and cleaned to an acceptable level.The van performed nicely, kept in a straight line with no pulling, had decent tyres, everything worked; it was all that you need from a short-term hire van. There was a distinct smell of oil in the cargo area, somebody must have used it for transporting a leaking engine or something in the past. The lesson here is always bring a large tarpaulin sheet when you hire a van, you never know what other people have used it for.The staff were polite, and the whole process from enquiry through pickup, to return was a very smooth and easy process. They need a driving licence share code, but even offered to help generate that at pickup if I needed help. All in all, a great experience.read more

We had a 3.5 tonn Luton van with tail lift for half a day. The van was spotless, everything in good working order. We were struggling to work out how to operate the tail lift, called the reception and they explained us the procedure no problem.I reduced by one star because the receptionist tried to charge me for the whole day but corrected the error as soon as I queried the amount with him. I hired this mini bus to take 3 young lads down to Devon for 5 days and we were absolutely delighted with the service and the mini bus we had. I had looked around for the best deal as the 3 lads pay for it from their own money and Maun Motors gave us the best deal. The 9 seater mini bus was ideal for all our needs and I was delighted to have the option to take it back on the Saturday morning rather than rush home to tackle the M1 on a Friday afternoon early evening. The ultimate no frills, rock solid van hire. Book your van, turn up, 2 minutes of paperwork, off you go, come back, sign in, job done. I've had trips to the bog that have taken considerably longer than all the admin involved. Don't count on it having much fuel in when you pick up, don't worry about leaving much in when you drop off. Dissapointed hire of Luton Van. Hired a Luton for 24hrs this week. Collection and staff good but the 09 registered van was past its best. After fully loading the van the shutter at the rear wS jammed and would not go down. It was raining and on our trip to Derby everything at the back was soaked even though the tail lift was up. On trying to release the tail lift it was apparent that the right side was lower than the left. I had to grab the right side forcing it up, run to the left release the safety latch then I could lower it. Nearly 50 times I needed to do this. I did call and a lady said she made a not on the invoice but that was all. Disapointedread more
