16 tonne Beavertail Transporter Hire
Versatile truck with integrated loading ramps and angled rear end
Ideally suited to heavy plant & vehicle transportation
We operate different sizes of trucks fitted with “beavertail” plant transporter bodies. This type of body has an angled rear end and hydraulic folding ramps for rear loading which allows vehicles, machinery and plant to be driven or winched onto the truck for transportation. When not in use the ramps fold down in a “cheese wedge” style to create a larger, flat, load bed. This vehicle has a GVW of 16t and is the largest beavertail lorry we operate.
The body features heavy-duty, hard-wearing, hardwood half-lap flooring on the load deck and feature various integrated tie-down points for maximum load security. Along each side there is a simple to use fall-arrest system with removable pillars, which allows safer working on the load bed but allows wider loads to be transported when necessary. There are also support legs beneath the ramps for additional strength and stability when loading.
Our larger beavertail units are well suited to civil engineering companies and open-cast mining operations, where plant, equipment and portable cabins are moved regularly between sites. For heavy haulage applications, this vehicle is large enough to work as a vehicle transporter for up to 2 large cars, vans or small trucks. Larger plant such as backhoe loaders & excavators used in the construction industry can be transported on this beavertail truck. The chassis features a 6×2 axle configuration with a rear-lift (rear drop axle), for added manoeuvrability & handling when laden and improved fuel efficiency when unladen.

LONDON ULEZ (ULTRA Low Emission Zone) & Clean Air Zones
Thanks to meeting the Euro 6 emissions rating, this vehicle is suitable for use within the London ULEZ Low Emission Zone and the Clean Air Zones operating in cities such as Birmingham, Sheffield, Tyneside – Newcastle and Gateshead, Greater Manchester, Bradford, Bath, Bristol & Portsmouth. If you plan to use your hired vehicle within a Clean Air Zone or the enlarged ULEZ zone in Greater & Central London, please specify a Euro 6 vehicle when making your booking.
Please note that due to the increased cost of modern vehicles, the rental price of a Euro 6 model may be higher than a Euro 5 model; but if you will be entering a ULEZ or CAZ this extra cost will be more than offset by not having to pay an entry charge.
