These single cab tippers with on-board tool boxes are perfectly suited for municipal, civil engineering, groundworks and groundcare/grounds maintenance. They feature a large tool storage locker at the front of the body. The tool box has a lockable roller-shutter access door at both sides. It’s designed to safely and securely store tools and equipment, keeping them close to hand whilst remaining safe from weathering and out of sight when not in use. During transit, the driver can be safe in the knowledge that tools an equipment are secured in the storage cabinet, so they cannot become a hazard to other road users.
These specially-ordered tipper tipper vans are suitable for councils & local authorities operating inner-city repair and maintenance work, due to their compact size and Euro 6 emissions (allowing them to be used inside Clean Air Zones and the London Ultra Low Emission Zone). This configuration of tipper is designed to offer a strong and durable, functional body whilst striking a balance between a large volume and a useable payload.

In the utilities and civil engineering industries, vehicles equipped with a hydraulic tipping dropside pick up body are used every day. They can be driven on a standard category B car licence and are also available with towbar & tachograph, making them legal for towing such as a wood chipper trailer, mini digger, etc.ย ย This makes the 3.5 tonne tipper a popular hire vehicle for many uses.
The tipper body length on one of these special tippers is around 2.84 metres / 9 feet 4 inches, with the tool pod in addition to this. This gives a greater load length than that of a dcrew cab tipper. The dimensions of the tool storage compartment are 0.66 metres x 1.94 metres x 1.44 metres high and it has a maximum load capacity of 100 kg.
For comparison, the body length on a standard 3.5t single cab dropside tipper is around 3.1 metres / 10 feet 3 inches, whereas the standard body length on a 3.5 tonne crew cab tipper is around 2.7 metres / 8 feet 9 inches. Single cab tippers, with 3 seats in total, tend to be built on medium wheelbase L2 chassis-cabs.

Thanks to meeting the Euro 6 emissions rating, our vehicles are suitable for use within the London ULEZ Low Emission Zone, Low Emission Zones (LEZ) in Scotland, and the Clean Air Zones operating in cities such as Birmingham, Sheffield, Tyneside – Newcastle and Gateshead, Bradford, Bath, Bristol & Portsmouth. Therefore, under current rules you should not have to pay a charge to use your hired vehicle within a Clean Air Zone, LEZ or the enlarged ULEZ zone in Greater & Central London.
