Refrigerated transport forms an essential, irreplaceable part of retail, catering and science industries. People rely on refrigerated vehicles for chilled distribution to deliver them fresh stock, food, ingredients and medicines in pristine condition and in a safe & hygienic manner.. Fridge van hire provides a flexible solution to short-term chiller van requirements.
Maun Motors respect this and although our chiller van fleet size is small, we provide refrigerated vehicles which are insulated and fitted out professionally with good quality chiller units, by a local company. Prior to each hire the chilled load compartment is hygienically cleaned.
We currently have some Transit T290 TDCi L2H2 (Medium Wheelbase, Medium Roof) fridge vans available to hire, with approximately 7.8m³ of chilled storage. These vans feature a 240 volt, 16 Amp electric plug-in / hook-up facility known as “Stand-by” or “Standby” (and occasionally “Overnight Stand-by”). Most van refrigeration systems will only operate with the vehicle engine running, but Standby allows the operator to pre-cool the load space and also to use the vehicle for chilled storage; powered by single phase mains electricity or by a generator. This feature makes standby a necessary feature for customers such as event caterers, event bars, festivals, galas & fetes.
If you are looking for a slightly smaller refrigerated van, or one without 240v standby, we also have some Transit T280 TDCi SWB Short Wheelbase, Medium Roof chiller vans with approximately 6.5m³ of storage space, which will accept two pallets of goods in the rear. If you need something larger, we also hire out 3.5 tonne L3 / Long Wheelbase refrigerated vans.

LONDON ULEZ (ULTRA Low Emission Zone) & Clean Air Zones
Thanks to meeting the Euro 6 emissions rating, this vehicle is suitable for use within the London ULEZ Low Emission Zone and the Clean Air Zones operating in cities such as Birmingham, Sheffield, Tyneside – Newcastle and Gateshead, Greater Manchester, Bradford, Bath, Bristol & Portsmouth. If you plan to use your hired vehicle within a Clean Air Zone or the enlarged ULEZ zone in Greater & Central London, please specify a Euro 6 vehicle when making your booking.
Please note that due to the increased cost of modern vehicles, the rental price of a Euro 6 model may be higher than a Euro 5 model; but if you will be entering a ULEZ or CAZ this extra cost will be more than offset by not having to pay an entry charge.
