This highly specialised 12 tonne GVW Mercedes-Benz Atego is a new addition to our fleet.ย Purpose-built for highway maintenance operations, including maintenance & replacement of telegraph poles,ย this specialist crane lorry is equipped with a front-mounted 6.6 tonne/metre rated Palfinger PK 7001-EH B loader with hook attachment.
The loader crane features: 2 x hydraulic extensions, Hydraulic in & out stabiliser legs & Radio remote control. The PK 7001-EH B has a maximum lifting capacity of 3,150 kg and is capable of lifting 630 kg at its maximum reach of 9.2 metres.ย The crane has continuous slew, meaning it can rotate through a full 360ยฐ without stopping.ย The truck has front & rear pairs of stabiliser legs and also features PALTRONIC 50 (PAL50) an HPSC (High Performance Stability Control) safety systems from Palfinger.ย HPSC & PAL50 combine to allow the crane to work to its maximum permissible lifting capacity – within the 360ยฐ movement, including over the driverโs cab – without the need to fully extend stabiliser beams. The HPSC system actively monitors vehicle stability in the entire 360ยฐ working area around the vehicle, through monitoring: The load on the vehicle, load moment of the crane, crane working speed, angle of ground inclination & the heel of the vehicle.ย These features, combined with the radio remote control, make this crane lorry a powerful & safe working partner

This particular vehicle configuration was built to meet the specific demands of pole erection and features: Air drive for pneumatic breaker, etc. Tool storage area with roller-shutter access each side and towbar. The truck also boasts a multitude of safety features โ for the driver, crane operator, pedestrians and other road users โ besides a host of practical, functional features.ย Included are: Reversing camera, Cruise control, Class VI cab mirror, Fall arrest system with removable support posts and operator load bed access steps with grab handles – to the near-side and rear, under-body storage locker, cab roof beacons, LED strobe beacons, LED load area work lamps and hi-vis rear tailboard.
The base vehicle is a Mercedes-Benz Atego 1218 day cab 4×2 12,000 kg GVW truck with a Euro 5 rated, 177 PS engine. ย The flatbed body features heavy duty lashing eyes, fall-arrest system, headboard & tailboard with pole brackets and heavy-duty, hard-wearing, aluminium chequerplate floor covering.
