Maun Motors have a range of 3.5 tonne vans fitted with flatbed pick-up bodies to suit most applications, whether you need a standard dropside, a dropside with tail-lift, or a plain flat-bed, we have a vehicle to suit your needs.
This extra-long 17 foot (5.16 to 5.20 metre) “Jumbo” dropside is the longest 3.5 tonne GVW flatbed we have available on our van rental fleet; even longer than our 16 foot 3.5t Dropsides.ย Based on the all-new Ford Transit T350 TDCi L5 (LWB EF) long wheelbase extended frame chassis-cab, these dropsides are popular for use in transporting scaffolding, uPVC extrusions and window & door frames, street lighting, etc.ย We are one of very few self-drive hire companies to offer a 5 metre+ dropside body on a 3.5t van.
Despite the impressive load length size, this vehicle can still be driven on a standard car licence (category B) and due to its ultra-light body construction – using aluminium wherever possible – it still has an impressive payload of over a tonne!ย The dropside bodies of these vehicles feature aluminium dropsides and hard-wearing, specialist resin-bonded plywood, load decks, along with pull-up load retention rings, under-chassis roping hooks & aluminium ladder-frame headboard and – on some models – integrated side steps both sides & headboard grab handles.
If you’re planning long-term or contract hire, we can even arrange to have a body built specific to your needs*.ย In the past we’ve supplied 3.5 tonne vehicles with specialist 19 foot/5.8m dropside bodies for carrying PVCu extrusions.
Occasionally we have dropsides available with crew cabs, allowing up to 5 passengers and a driver to be transported in one vehicle; an extremely practical option.ย Please call for availability.
LONDON ULEZ (ULTRA Low Emission Zone) & Clean Air Zones
Thanks to meeting the Euro 6 emissions rating, our vehicles are suitable for use within the London ULEZ Low Emission Zone, Low Emission Zones (LEZ) in Scotland, and the Clean Air Zones operating in cities such as Birmingham, Sheffield, Tyneside – Newcastle and Gateshead, Bradford, Bath, Bristol & Portsmouth. Therefore, under current rules you should not have to pay a charge to use your hired vehicle within a Clean Air Zone, LEZ or the enlarged ULEZ zone in Greater & Central London.
